ROP takes 266 illegals into custody

The Royal Oman Police (ROP), in co-operation with military and security departments, arrested during August 4-10, 266 infiltrators of different nationalities for entering the country illegally. The ROP has deported 149 infiltrators, after taking necessary legal action, in co-ordination with the respective embassies. An ROP source said that despite efforts to combat infiltration, which poses a major security threat, social risk with economic implications, infiltrators are still trying to sneak into the country with the help of their accomplices who give them shelter and job, hampering all efforts to combat infiltration.
