Coast Guard Honours Citizen for Reporting on Infiltrators
(23/5/2012)Colonel Badr bin Khalfan al Zidjali, Commander of the Coast Guard, honoured a citizen of the Wilayat of Shinas for reporting an infiltration attempt to the ROP via the hot line 9999. Personnel from the Coast Guard later seized the boat and booked the infiltrators. Colonel Al Zidjali praised the citizen for his co-operation with the authorities urging all citizens and residents to report any such suspicious movement to the ROP to help them carry out their duties in serving the nation.
Meanwhile, Coast Guard personnel rescued an Asian man from drowning at Al Maragh beach in the Wilayat of Barka. Shortly after receiving a report of the incident, personnel from the Coast Guard and the Marine Rescue Team on board the Royal Oman Police (ROP) boats sped to the spot and extricated the man who was then transferred to Barka Health Centre. The ROP calls on citizens and residents to every precaution while on beaches or swimming in the sea.
