TRAFFIC SAFETY

A combination of knowledge, skill and attitude is required to be a safe driver.

Knowledge of traffic rules and driving practices.

Skill to care about the safety of others on the road. Accident free traffic is everyone's responsibility.

Attitude to co-operate with other drivers to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic. Everyone should be courteous, give other drivers the chance lanes and signal before turning.

 

SAFETY TIPS

  1. Before driving, ensure that you are comfortable mentally and physically. Inspect your vehicle before driving, and make sure that it is roadworthy.

  2. Always carry your driving license, registration card and insurance certificate.

  3. DON'T DRIVE IF YOU are under the influence of alcohol, or any medicine or drug that affects your responses, or if you are tired, sick or are angry or upset.

  4. Make sure that you know the features of the vehicle you are going to drive, like the anti-lock brakes, 4-wheel drive. Ensure you know where the controls and instruments are and what they do. Check that all emergency signals and instruments work.

  5. Have a clear view while driving, and Make sure that nothing blocks your view.

  6. Fasten your seat belt before you start.
