The birth event is registered for Omanis in the Sultanate and abroad, and for foreigners who are residing in the Sultanate. The birth must be reported within two weeks from the date of birth in the Sultanate, and a birth certificate will be issued as a legal document. Where the birth takes place outside Oman, it must be reported within three (3) months if the period of stay there is for more than one month, and within fifteen (15) days if the period of stay abroad is less than one month.
