Al-Tagrood art is one of the traditional, authentic Bedouin arts distinguished
among other folk arts as it is derived from the Bedouin environment and culture.
This beautiful art is still practised to this day. Many governorates are famous for
AlTagrood, such as Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, Al Sharqiah, Dhofar, Al Wusta and
Al Dakhiliyah.It is singing on the camels` back while running performed by men
on occasions such as holidays or summer leisure while sitting in front of their
tents or other places.
Tagrood is performed singly or lyrically in a group on a fixed tone characterized
by the elongation of the letters in a wavy tone during the men`s
walk. This art is also called “Shalet Al Rukaab” or Hambel
Al Rukaab” according to its performance method.
